Celebare the Anniversary of Woodstock~ Send Peace & Love with Woodstock ecards

August 15, 2007

On this day, August 15th, thirty-eight years ago, more than 450,000 people travled to a pasture in Sullivan County for a music festival in Bethel, New York. From Friday evening to early Monday morning, this site became a countercultural mini-nation in which minds were open and love was “free”. Some argue that it was a disaster, others a revolution, and still others just believe it was one heck of a party- it was Woodstock!

Whatever Woodstock really was, nothing like it has ever happened since then. This bash cost more than $2.4 million and was planned by four very young men, the oldest being 26 at the time. Even with the amount of planning that went into Woodstock, chaos ensued as more people than expected arrived and entered the festival with no ticket. Rain battered the site for days as hunger set in among the attendees.

The rest is history that will probably never be repeated due to the numerous laws that were set in place to prevent this type of thing from happening again. There is a huge monument at the site of Woodstock that attracts tons of visitors every year. It is clear that the magic and memory of this legendary Woodstock festival is still in the air today, 38 years later!

Either way, it is always nice to surprise someone with an out of the blue free ecard! Whether your best friend, aunt, or cousin attended this festival, remind them of the memories with a Woodstock ecard. These ecards help to remind people of the past and how it has helped shape the world we live in today! Woodstock is truly a part of Rock and Roll history and part of American history as well.

Celebrate everyday of the year with free ecards!

August 1, 2007

August is one of the months of the year that doesn’t have a major holiday to celebrate. This does not mean that everyday is not a great reason to get together, celebrate life, and enjoy yourself! Because in the large scope of things.. life is too short not to relish every minute of it and try to make the most of everyday… even if its not Christmas or Memorial Day. The older I get, the more I realize that each day is important because time isn’t gonna last forever.

Americangreetings.com has come up with a unique holiday for every single day of the year. Some of them are silly little holidays that were designed simply to bring a smile to your face. One of the best parts about it is that you can also let others know about each holiday by sending them all free ecards! Each free ecard explains the holiday and why it should be a day to celebrate. Some upcoming “holidays” in August include, “Aloha Day”, “Woodstock Day”, “Sit Back and Relax Day”, and “True Love Day”!

These silly holidays will make each day something to celebrate. By sending these free cards to family and friends, maybe you will be able to make their day alittle brighter and relieve alittle bit of the stress of everyday life!

It’s Been 38 Years Since We “Landed on the Moon”

July 20, 2007

The United States landed on the moon July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. Well, this is what most of us were taught to believe. In recent years, there have been a number of people that believe that we never really landed on the moon and that it was a hoax by NASA. These people feel very strongly that the moon landings were taped in a secluded, secure movie set. There is much “evidence” they say supports this belief, such as different shadows and lighting concepts.

To be honest, I don’t know what to believe. This is much evidence to claim that it was a hoax and also evidence to prove these theories very wrong. I would like to believe that Neil Armstrong really did walk on the moon’s surface 38 years ago today!

Either way, today can be thought of as a US Holiday. Be proud and send some Free Moon Landing Day cards! These Moon Day ecards will remind people of this extraordinary day, let’s just hope it really happened!

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Birthdays are Holidays too… In their own special way of course!

July 9, 2007

I consider birthdays mini-holidays. Even if it’s only a holiday to you and your close friends and family, birthdays are a special day to celebrate you and the day you came into this world. I love celebrating my family members and friends birthdays and think it is a big deal. This might be due to the fact that my mom always made a big fuss about our birthdays growing up. There was always balloons, gifts, cake, the whole nine. Even now, that I am grown and moved out of my parents’ house, I always recieve balloons, flowers, and a card. I plan on continuing this tradition when I have a family of my own.

I think with the busy lives that we all lead in today’s world, people get so caught up and let these important days slip by, sometimes unnoticed. Nothing is worse than forgetting someone’s birthday or having someone important to you forget your birthday. We need to learn to slow down and take the time to celebrate life and the people in it!

Start seizing the day and celebrating the people in your life. One easy way is to make certain that you remember all your friends and family’s birthdays. Send them all a birthday card, or at the very least a greatbirthday ecard. Americangreetings.com has an enormous variety of birthday cards to choose from~ you will find the perfect card for anyone in your life, I am sure of that.

Choose from funny birthday cards, religious birthday cards, Disney birthday cards, romantic birthday ecards, belated birthday ecards(in case you do forget), as well as printable birthday cards in various themes.

There is no excuse not to celebrate all your loved one’s birthdays this summer. It is worth it to see the smile of their face and to let them know that you are glad that they were born!

Will Gas Prices Affect Your Fourth of July Plans This Year?

June 25, 2007

It’s the story of the past year– gas prices! We have seen them soar, drop down, then soar again to prices not even imaginable a few years ago. I remember when I started driving-about 6 years ago-I could fill up my Sunfire for 16 bucks. It now costs me about $40 to fill up my entire tank– talk about craziness! Thats more than double in 6 years–the effects of war and inflation are unbelievable.

Despite high gas prices, consumer still plan on celebrating this Fourth of July. A survey conducted this month determined that about 42% of consumers said that the gas prices would indeed impact their Independence Day expenditures. When it comes to popular celebrations- 61.1% of consumers said they will celebrate by attending a Independence Day BBQ or picnic, 42.5% will watch a Fourth of July fireworks show, and 9.7% will attend a Fourth of July parade.

17.3% of shoppers will purchase patriotic items to make their celebrations even more special. Stores around the country will face some problems since the holiday falls on a Wednesday this year, but should be prepared to stock up on Fourth of July merchandise.

While gas prices will affect how far people travel and how much they spend, consumers will still celebrate Fourth of July surrounded by family and enjoying fireworks, BBQs, and parties.

Get ready for the big day– send out those Fourth of July invitations to let all your family and friends know about the BBQ, email your friends and loved ones some Fourth of July eCards to honor our country, and download some patriotic desktop wallpaper and Fourth of July screensavers!

It’s June 25th..can you guess what today is?

June 25, 2007

I know this is probably wrong of me to bring this up, but today marks 6 months til Christmas. I know that it is summer and the last thing any of us want to think about is snow, December, and Santa Claus. But it is a good thing to know that there is exactly 182.5 shopping days left.. so no need to start panicking anytime soon. : )

American Greetings has named this day Leon Day(which is Noel spelled backward). They have a great free ecard that shows Santa doing the same thing we all should be doing in June–laying on the beach, relaxing with a cocktail. Let everyone know that we are half way to another Christmas!

June 21, 2007

Today, June 21st 2007, is the longest day of the year, also known as the Summer Solstice. It is the day when the sun will remain in the sky for the longest period of time and farthest north to mark the official beginning of summer. It is such a big deal in many places, that there are numerous Summer Solstice celebrations and festivals each year.

I can’t wait to get out of work today, fire up the grill, make some margaritas, take advantage of the long sunlight, and watch the sun go down. (let’s just hope the Cleveland weather cooperates) I also sent some Summer eCards to my family and friends to let them know that summer has finally arrived.. officially anyways. These Summer cards are a perfect way to get others pumped about the upcoming months of sunshine, warm weather, cookouts, campfires, sunglasses, flip-flops, etc.
